Catherine Greenwood

Parent Governor - Elected in January 2025

Dr Catherine Greenwood is a lecturer at the University of Lancashire Business School, where she teaches digital marketing and researches fashion communication. She holds a PhD in Fashion Communication and has extensive experience in higher education, supporting students to develop creativity, confidence, and critical thinking.

Alongside her university role, Catherine has worked with the National Saturday Club, a national education charity that provides young people with opportunities to explore art, design, and creative thinking beyond the classroom. This experience has strengthened her belief that creativity and critical thinking are essential skills for life, helping young people to solve problems, express themselves, and approach challenges with curiosity and resilience.

Catherine’s research examines how people communicate and express identity through digital media, and she is passionate about helping young people understand and use technology in positive and meaningful ways.

As a parent of two children, Catherine has a strong personal interest in primary education. She believes that schools should foster curiosity, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning. She is committed to supporting the school’s values and ensuring that all children have the opportunity to flourish in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment.

Catherine brings to the governing board a reflective and forward-thinking perspective, grounded in her belief that education should nurture both imagination and critical thought, preparing children to thrive in a changing world.
